My Spring Style Wishlist #2

Spring Style Wishlist 2

Spring Style Wishlist 2 by thedivaplan featuring Essie

Here I go again you say?  Well I say let's step into this new season shining.  Although, I will admit that I'm subjecting you all to these posts because I'm trying to get myself ready--excuse the selfishness.  On the bright side, I'm always about presenting looks and deals so all my 40+ divas can have banging wardrobes and wallets.  So here I present my second most sought after ensemble for spring and this is a look I can actually carry into summer and it can be remixed several different ways.

Down below you will see where I plan on getting the pieces necessary to pull this look together and which items I already own.  A word of encouragement though before you start scrolling.  Trust me on this one. If you take time to think about your personal style preferences and the image you want to show to the world, you will get to the point where you will only have to buy pieces you need instead of shopping at random. I'm in rehab so I can attest to it:)

All of the accessories pictured here are mine and would go perfectly with the outfit idea, which means more money in my pocket and a pat on my back for reusing instead of spending more money.  Besides that, 5 out of 6 of these items I've never used.  I need to get out more!

Pewter caged clutch:  Gifted to me for my birthday by my cousin.
Blue beaded & gold and blue beaded necklaces:  Charming Charlies
Black wedge:  JustFab (Makayla)
Black statement ring:  Traci Lynn Jewelry
Gold bracelet watch:  Guess
White enamel ring with a watch under the dome:  HSN years ago

Although I like the striped pants in the feature photo above, I actually prefer these much more for several reasons.  First, the white on blue looks a lot classier; the wide leg is more on trend and the belt detail gives it just enough pizzazz so it deviates from being the typical striped pant.  With that being said, these slacks are a win, win, win from Simply Be for $36.49.
Here's funky shoe option by JustFab (Bekka) for $39.95.  It would definitely give the outfit a more bohemian look while still allowing you to show off the flow of the slacks and the shoe at the same time.

My penchant for long tunics is not very high, but when I saw this one on Simply Be for $57.50 I instantly loved it!  This tunic is very versatile and the modern lines make it a win for today's busy woman who wants push her style button.

I know this tomato colored longline jacket is a digression from the intended ensemble, but I couldn't help realize how absolutely fabulous it would look with the wide leg striped pants.  I've been eyeing this piece for a while and it's currently discounted from $99.95 to $67.50 on Simply Be once again.  Simply Be is a great online shopping option for sizes 8 to 28.  Their pieces speak to real women, but have just enough edge to keep you on trend and stylish.

My Spring Style Wishlist #1

Spring Wishlist Post 1

Spring Wishlist Post 1 by thedivaplan featuring a cuff bracelet

Spring has already sprung which means it's time for me to start thinking about my wardrobe so I can be ready, cool and stylish.  Being ready is essential in the Midwest because you never know what kind of weather you're going to get in the spring.

This past fall when I shopped for clothing, I was very intentional and I plan on doing the same for spring. My plan is to buy pieces that are functional, diverse and of course I only want pieces that I know I will get a lot of use out of.

The items featured in this post don't include all of the purchases I want to make.  Keyword 'want'. This is just one ensemble that I'm really excited about putting together.  I definitely want to incorporate lots of accessories, such as bracelets, rings and shades into all of my looks and since we can have hot days in St. Louis in the spring. I also want to make sure I build a chic, but comfortable wardrobe.  Keep scrolling to see what's on my spring wishlist and how I plan on rocking it.  Also, the pieces shown below are cheaper dupes of the items shown above.

P.S.  The Louis Vuitton Speedy was a great find (found by a friend of mine) at a thrift store for $75!!!!!!!  Voila!

I've been searching for a fringed heel less than 4" high and this one by SimplyBe fits the bill perfectly at 3 1/2 inches!  This shoe also comes in black, but I think the brown is more fitting for spring.  I can pair these with distressed jeans or culottes, a simple tee, a statement necklaces and bangle bracelets for a easy, stylish look.  $59.99

I've been a fan of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish for a while because it lasts a long time.  I recently picked up the shade Pink Pong at my local Walgreens for $7.99.  I love this shade because it is the pinkish brown color I was looking for.  Excuse the messy cuticles:)

These are accessories I already own.  I'm especially excited to wear the gold and white bracelet from Charming Charlie's.  I love the art deco lines and design of this piece AND, I got it on clearance for $7.99!

Plus Size Utility Jacket
For spring I absolutely must have an army green cargo jacket.  This jacket from Forever 21 can be dressed up or down and can go from day tripping to happy hour.  Just add heels and go.  I definitely plan on wearing this jacket with distressed skinny jeans, white tee, statement necklace and fringed heeled sandals.  $37.90.

In my last post, I featured these distressed ankle grazer jeans from JustFab.  I wore these jeans over the weekend and I cannot stress enough how comfortable they are.  Oh and stylish!  Let's just say they will be getting a lot of wear.  VIP price $39.95.

JustFab Goes Plus!

Distressed Skinny Ankle Gazer from JustFab
I ordered these in my normal size, an 18 and they fit amazingly well and are super comfy!

Do I have an addiction to monthly subscriptions and automatic withdrawals?  Well...no, but having a few guarantees my shopping crave will be satisfied at least 2x per month.  Currently, I have a beauty box subscription and I'm a member of JustFab online. Unless you've been living under a rock, JustFab was created by Kimora Lee Simmons and its main focus is shoes, but they also offer handbags, jewelry, clothing and other accessories. When you sign up, you create a profile which allows site "stylists" to create a monthly boutique of suggested items based on your profile.  The cost is $39.95 per month and if you stay a member for a at least a few months, you'll earn Reward Points to use towards free items.  I've partaken in all that JustFab has to offer, but I've never been able to try pieces from the clothing line because they didn't offer my size.  Story of my life.

Now who's living under a rock?  The other day I logged in to peruse the site and much to my surprise, I saw a plus size tab!  Let's just say at that point I knew where at least 1 out of 2 of my VIP credits were going.  At this time, the plus size collection is not as plentiful as the regular sizes, but my fingers are crossed that it will grow over time.  Now again, The Diva Plan is dedicated to style for the 40+ woman so all of the plus size styles JustFab is offering are not fully age appropriate, but trust me there's a little something in it for "us".  Being over 40 and plus size definitely doesn't mean you have to be drab, plain nor less stylish.  It simply means that we have the grace to go with whatever we choose to wear.  Keep scrolling to see the age appropriate, plus size pieces I found on JustFab.

Bleached Hem Mid Rose Flair
Flair leg jeans are back and have been since Fall.  These jeans would look great with an army green cargo jacket or vest or even a bohemian tunic.  Either way, sass this look up with large bodacious shades or at least that's what I would do:)
This Chiffon Back Blazer is EVERYTHING and something I haven't seen online yet.  Pair with leather leggings, traditional black pumps and a gunmetal clutch for a chic night out dancing or listening to live jazz.
I simply love off the shoulder tops because they allow mature women to show a little skin, yet still be uber classy.  This Slouchy 3/4 Off The Shoulder top also comes in black and can be worn with leggings and sneakers for a casual look while running errands or it can be spiced up for evening with a little dust of shimmer on the shoulders and a statement necklace.
This Off The Shoulder Top in Chocolate (which actually looks like a pink or rose quartz to me) can be paired with stylish bottoms like wide leg slacks, peg leg slacks or a pleated midi skirt for a fine dining experience.
